Wanted Suspect Surrenders To Police In Richmond After Standoff
(by Alex Kekauoha) – A wanted suspect surrendered peacefully to police after he barricaded himself in a home in Richmond on Sunday afternoon, a police spokesman said.
At 4:15 p.m., police received a call about a suspect with an outstanding arrest warrant at a home in the 200 block of South 15th Street, according to Richmond police spokesman Lt. Felix Tan.
Officers arrived at the home, but the unarmed male suspect barricaded himself inside, Tan said.
Relatives of the suspect were also inside, but they exited the home early on in the standoff, Tan said.
Officers negotiated with the suspect for about 2 hours and 30 minutes before he surrendered peacefully, Tan said. No one was injured during the standoff, Tan said.
