Pleasant Valley girls use strong third quarter to defeat Foothill in Eastern Athletic League opener

The Pleasant Valley girls basketball team hosted Foothill in the Vikings’ Eastern Athletic League opener Tuesday night in Chico, and the Vikings defeated the Cougars 61-39. PV coach Bob Paddock said that for a second straight season the 2023 team was going to live and die by the 3-point shot, but this season he hoped to focus more on rebounding and defense. PV shot 10-for-26 (38.4%) on 3-pointers, but the Vikings limited Foothill to 4-of-18 (22%) on 3-pointers.
