Foothill High School was the host of the boys and girls cross country Eastern Athletic League Championship Championship meet Thursday in Palo Cedro. Chico High won the girls race with 27 points, ahead of Foothill, Pleasant Valley and Red Bluff. In the boys race the championship came down to a tiebreaker. The Panthers and the Vikings tied for first place with 32 points each, but the Vikings won on a tie breaking rule in which the winner is determined by the sixth runner’s finish on each team.
