A man arrested by Santa Rosa police on Friday after a short chase was allegedly found to have a loaded firearm in his possession, according to police.

Police said they took 22-year-old Brandon Crouch of Santa Rosa into custody just after 2 p.m. Friday near Marlow Road and W. College Avenue in Santa Rosa.

Police said officers on duty noticed Crouch, described as a transient known to have warrants, riding his bike north on Marlow Road.

Police said they called out to Crouch, but he attempted to bike away from them by changing directions and biking south on Marlow Road.

Police eventually chased down Crouch, who resisted arrested and reached for his waistband while being taken into custody, according to police.

Police said Crouch was allegedly found with a knife, narcotics, methamphetamine, loose bullets and a loaded Smith and Wesson .357 revolver, police said.

He was arrested for an outstanding warrant and on suspicion of: possession of a controlled substance while armed, obstructing a police officer, possession of a controlled substance, possession of narcotics and
carrying a loaded weapon in a public place, according to police.

Police said Crouch was medically cleared at a local hospital and booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
