Letter: Little is ‘saved’ by some of these cuts

Some observations: — Recent surveys show that Americans, on average, think that spending on foreign aid makes up 31% of the federal budget, and they think that it should be reduced to about 10%. In reality, foreign aid actually makes up less than 1% of the federal budget, and less than 0.2% of our GDP.
