Why would somebody go to such an inconvenient spot to sleep?

I’m thinking either hiding out or for safety

Really. Maybe cause he’s desperate and wanted a safe place. Get a life and become human and be thankful you have a warm bed.

Someone just asked a question, why respond so rudely? Let’s start a trend…Just respond rudely then say “get a life and be human”. Practice what you preach lady….maybe that person hadn’t thought of that….not everyone thinks alike and may have honestly been asking…why go through such lengths? That’s called a teachable moment, to let someone in on another way of thinking….such as a homeless persons point of view of safety. There are kinder ways to get your point across. But I’ll use the golden rule and treat you the way you treat others cause it must be what you like…Get a life.

It looks like there is a vent up there. That and a wind break from the walls probably made it an ideal site to sleep overnight.

Having been homeless in this exact area this is ingenious for a a camp spot. Yes it’s not safe but yes as a homeless in this terrible area. It was safe. His stuff was safe and the wind wasn’t reaching him so he was slightly warmer. Be grateful for what you have ppl.

Years and years ago, in the Haight Ashbury, there was a man carrying a huge sign, as he walked along the sidewalk he was smashing into everyone and everything along his path, the sign read “stamp out violence!”
I guess he was being “human”!
