Vector control hunts for blood suckers as north state enters deer tick season
Each year as the temperature drops and the grass once again turns green, the Butte County Mosquito and Vector Control District enters its tick-hunting season. While ticks bite year-round, the deer tick, also known as the black-legged tick, tends to prefer cooler, wetter conditions but more importantly — it is the tick that can carry Lyme disease.
