Four people died and six were wounded in a major traffic collision Wednesday night on Highway 12 near the town of Rio Vista in Solano County, officials said. 
KCRA reported that the incident was a head-on crash. 
First responders were called to the scene of the crash just after 8 p.m. on Highway 12 just east of Summerset Road. Six individuals were transported to local hospitals while four people were pronounced dead at the scene, the Rio Vista Fire Department said. 
The Solono County Sheriff’s Office and the Rio Vista Police Department and Fire Department all responded to the incident. 
Highway 12 was temporarily closed due to the crash. 
Officials haven’t provided any information on the ages or genders of the people killed or how many individuals were in each car.
